Finance Business Partner

About the role

Howden Re, the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital and strategic advisor, is hiring a Finance Business Partner in its North American revenue book. The role covers financial reporting, forecasting, brokerage sharing and best-practice processes, working closely with account executives, brokers and the North American broking and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Financial reporting and monthly held-book forecasts, including validating numbers for the coming month and quarterly reforecast submissions to Howden Group
• Annual business plan review and monthly report accuracy checks, following up with account executives (AEs) and broking teams on discrepancies
• Monthly PPT summary of organic growth, new business wins and month-to-date changes for the team and leadership
• Pipeline review: build new business targets into the annual budget and incorporate wins into forecasts
• Brokerage sharing: inventory all BSAs in the North America revenue book, model BSA structures and develop best practices on BSA language with Legal and Contract teams
• Streamline and automate monthly processes, communicate reporting deadlines and follow up with AEs before treaty effective dates so placements are completed and documented for revenue recognition
• Liaise with North American broking and operations teams (Accounting, Contract and Legal)

Required profile

• 5 years of experience in a business-related position and environment
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proactive, creative and analytical thinker who works well independently and in a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in client-related tasks
• Strong time management and project management skills

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
