Field Service/Customer Engineer II

About the role

As a Field Service/Customer Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple system domains.

Key responsibilities

• Perform startups through Tier III, including process qualifications and use of customer metrology equipment.
• Plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Troubleshoot component‑level hardware and software issues using process data and on‑site logging.
• Lead or coordinate retrofit activities and ensure correct procedure revisions.
• Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to drive corrective actions and improve service processes.

Required profile

• Developed expertise through extensive on‑the‑job training and experience.
• Ability to work autonomously while following established procedures and safety checklists.
• Capable of providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers and customers.

Required skills

• Digital analytics for equipment troubleshooting.
• Use of process data and metrology equipment for diagnostics.
• Knowledge of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas system maintenance.
