Field Service Manager (Drives)

About the role

ABB is looking for a Field Service Manager for drives, reporting to the Service Operations Manager, within the Process Automation, Marine and Ports Division. The manager is responsible for the operational performance of tools and field engineers' activities in their territory, ensuring professional, ethical representation and achievement of financial, commercial, OHS and environmental targets. The work model is hybrid, and the role can be based in Miramar, FL or Houston, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of service engineers, covering staffing needs such as interviewing, hiring, training, retention, succession planning, coaching and development, in line with the Operations Manager and the local HR department.
• Assign work to the service engineering group and delegate qualified personnel to service jobs and troubleshooting, keeping employee working hours within approved guidelines.
• Drive the development of processes and practices based on customer feedback (Net Promoter Score) to continuously improve customer experience.
• Allocate, drive and monitor work according to order content, delivery time, competencies and workload.
• Ensure the company is represented professionally and ethically, with a high code of conduct, and supports customers in improving equipment performance, reliability and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Marine Service industry (8 or more years preferred).
• Service experience (sales, project management, service coordination or service engineer) in the cruise and offshore industry.
• Experience in ABB Marine and Ports services and products preferred.
• Prior Team Lead experience is highly desirable but not required.
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• Detailed knowledge of marine VFD and drive systems.
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and leading investigations.
