EHS / RSO Manager

About the role

UIH Technologies L.L.C. is a Houston-based manufacturing organization for Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare Co., Ltd. in North America, introducing a new portfolio of imaging products to the USA market. As a start-up building from the ground up, it is looking for an EHS/RSO Manager to set up and run its environmental, health and safety program.

Key responsibilities

• Identify local laws and regulations related to EHS and ensure plant operations comply with requirements for air, solid waste, chemicals, water, health and safety
• Establish the EHS management system and provide the needed training
• Organize environmental, occupational and safety checks to reduce accidents and injuries, and drive corrective actions
• Implement and lead the safety committee to raise safety performance
• Report internally to management and escalate issues when necessary
• Develop and maintain good relationships with local and state agencies
• Perform other associated duties as required

Required profile

• Experience in safety and health, environmental engineering or a related field
• 3 years of experience leading environmental and safety compliance programs in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team
• Demonstrated knowledge of EHS and government regulations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork and strong interpersonal skills

• ISO 14000 and ISO 18000 experience
