Field Sales Consultant, Home Services, Exteriors - San Antonio, TX

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Home Services Sales Consultant in San Antonio, Texas, to sell exterior and interior products and services to customers. The role is mostly outside sales: visiting customer homes and trade shows, making tailored product recommendations, negotiating custom price quotes and driving profitability. It reports to the Sales Manager and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer homes to make sales calls, assess needs, recommend products and present warranty and financing options
• Develop and negotiate customized price quotes, complete sales contracts and paperwork, and take measurements to meet installation specifications
• Solicit new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events such as Home Shows
• Maintain relationships with store management and associates, educate them on HDIS offerings and raise awareness of HDIS programs
• Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and learn about product offerings

Required profile

• Able to work 18 years or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED; 1+ year of related work experience preferred
• Typical overnight travel of 5% of the time; must stand or walk continuously and lift moderate-weight items (8-20 pounds)
• Exposure to dust, fumes or odors; no prior leadership experience required

Preferred qualifications

• Prior in-home or virtual sales experience
• Prior home improvement industry experience
• Experience generating leads and computer and app skills (email, iPad, apps)
