Field Inspector

About the role

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Field Inspector to support a large industrial client in Jewett, TX. The role involves inspecting structural components on‑site, recording deficiencies, and providing accurate field measurements in heavy‑industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Detect defects in structural systems and recommend remedial actions for non‑complex issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other visual aids.
• Gather field measurements, conduct inspections, and document existing conditions.
• Prepare reports and process field data using a computer or tablet.
• Interface directly with client representatives and support emergency jobs on short notice.
• Travel within Texas and to other states as required.

Required profile

• Pass a fit‑for‑duty test and reside in the Jewett, TX area.
• Experience in an industrial environment such as oil & gas, refineries, or power plants.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• Preferred certifications: Nondestructive testing, Certified Welding Inspector, API 510/570/653, NACE Coating Inspector.
