Survey Party Chief – South Central US

About the role
As a Survey Party Chief in Kiewit’s South‑Central District, you will lead survey teams on large‑scale civil infrastructure projects across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. The role focuses on delivering accurate topographic, boundary and utility surveys while ensuring safety, quality and compliance with design specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct topographic surveys to capture terrain, elevation and drainage data for site plans.
- Verify property boundaries and map utilities to prevent construction conflicts.
- Assess soil conditions and mark key site points using total stations and GPS.
- Track construction progress, perform volume calculations and material estimations.
- Execute final “as‑built” surveys and produce detailed survey plans using CAD software.
- Utilize drones for aerial surveys and incorporate FAA data for airspace management.
Required profile
- Mid‑level experience in construction surveying or engineering.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and ability to work in fast‑paced field environments.
- Commitment to safety, precision and quality.
Required skills
- Trimble Business Center software.
- GPS and total station operation.
- Drone surveying.
- Microstation, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
