Field Engineering Specialist - San Diego

About the role

Roche Support Network provides exceptional support to customers, and as a Field Engineering Specialist you will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche's assigned product lines. You will serve laboratory customers in your assigned territory, which lies within the San Diego area, and the role is field-based; the ideal candidate must live in the territory.

Key responsibilities

• Routine technical support, on-site service, repair and installation of Roche products
• Serve as customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software and system failures
• Document all activities, contribute to quality improvement and focus on customer satisfaction

Required profile

• High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience
• 5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking; alternatively a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience
• Preferred: 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of progressive experience
• Successful completion of training or certification as defined by Roche's RD Services leadership and policy is mandatory
• Ability to travel, including overnight travel, and to act as an internal technical resource, support after hours and on weekends/holidays
• Relocation benefits are not available

Required skills

• Preferred: advanced knowledge of electronics, electromechanical systems, information technology and basic chemistry
• Preferred: strong customer relationship management

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $71,000 to $132,000 depending on experience, qualifications, location and other factors
• A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance
