Field Engineering Specialist

About the role

Roche Support Network provides exceptional support to customers, and as a Field Engineering Specialist you will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche's assigned product lines. You will serve laboratory customers in your assigned territory, acting as their technical contact for service-related issues. The role is field-based, with daily travel and up to 60% overnight travel, and the ideal candidate lives in Seattle, Renton or Tacoma.

Key responsibilities

• Routine technical support, on-site service, repair and installation of Roche products
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software and system failures
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Serve as customer contact for technical and service issues
• Document all activities, contribute to quality improvement and focus on customer satisfaction

Required profile

• High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience
• 5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking; alternatively a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience
• Successful completion of training or certification defined by Roche's RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory
• Ability to travel, including overnight travel
• Preferred: 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of progressive experience
• Preferred: advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology and basic chemistry
• Preferred: ability to act as an internal technical resource, support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships

What we offer

• Salary range of $71,100 to $132,000 depending on experience, qualifications, location and other factors
• A possible discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance
