Federal Solutions Architect (Remote Opportunity)

About the role

Mind Computing is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead federal growth initiatives, primarily for the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal health agencies. This remote position requires a candidate residing in the continental United States.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine proposal‑ready technical narratives for RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, task orders, white papers, and other federal pursuits.
• Partner with Growth, Capture, Proposal, Delivery, Engineering, Pricing, and Executive teams to create compliant, differentiated technical solutions.
• Lead technical solutioning sessions, proposal reviews, oral presentations, and customer discussions.
• Design enterprise architectures covering application modernization, cloud, data, APIs, healthcare interoperability, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and AI/Generative AI.
• Produce architecture diagrams, data flows, integration models, modernization roadmaps, and other technical artifacts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT, software engineering, systems architecture, and technical leadership.
• Significant experience supporting the VA or other federal healthcare programs.
• Strong technical writing ability and experience presenting complex solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to meet federal background investigation and suitability requirements, including Public Trust.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms: AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Enterprise architecture, microservices, API design, data architecture, analytics, DevSecOps, CI/CD.
• Healthcare integration standards: HL7, FHIR, REST APIs.
• VA systems knowledge: VistA, Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW), My HealtheVet, Federal EHR/Oracle Health.
• AI/ML and Generative AI concepts: LLMs, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, responsible AI.
• Use of AI‑assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot for research and architecture development.
