FBI Special Agent – Cybersecurity & Technology

About the role

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking qualified professionals to join its Special Agent workforce with a focus on cybersecurity and technology. As a Special Agent you will combine investigative duties with advanced technical expertise to protect the United States from cyber‑threats, terrorism, fraud and other national security challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal law, including cyber‑crimes and public‑safety incidents.
• Analyze digital evidence, apply technical knowledge to uncover critical information, and develop investigative strategies.
• Maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and international law‑enforcement agencies.
• Exercise judgment, resourcefulness and versatility to meet evolving investigative demands.
• Maintain required physical fitness standards to perform law‑enforcement duties.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in computer science, engineering, data science or a related field.
• Willingness to travel as required and meet FBI employment eligibility requirements.

Required skills

• Strong background in cybersecurity and information security.
• Technical support experience and ability to apply technical knowledge to investigative contexts.
