Family Nurse Practitioner – Mobile Clinic

About the role

The Family Nurse Practitioner provides primary care in a mobile, school‑based clinic serving students, faculty, staff, families and community residents in rural Brazos Valley. The role involves full‑time, on‑site clinical work and travel to mobile clinic sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform history, physical examinations, diagnose acute and chronic conditions, and develop therapeutic plans.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, ECGs, and manage medications with prescriptive authority.
• Provide primary health‑care maintenance, immunizations, screenings, and patient education.
• Coordinate care with physicians, interprofessional team members, and serve as a clinical resource.
• Precept nursing students each semester and lead the team of full‑time and PRN Nurse Practitioners.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Nursing with national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• At least one year of direct family practice experience and an active Texas RN and APRN license with prescriptive authority.
• Texas driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Preferred: Doctor of Nursing Practice, five years of clinical experience, health professions education experience, and Basic Life Support certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Ability to manage sensitive patient information and maintain confidentiality.
