Family Nurse Practitioner – Mobile Care

About the role

The Family Nurse Practitioner will deliver primary care in a mobile, school‑based clinic serving students, faculty, staff, families and community residents in rural Brazos Valley areas. The role involves traveling to various clinic sites and working within an interprofessional team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform history, physical examinations, diagnose acute and chronic conditions, and develop therapeutic plans.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests; manage medications with prescriptive authority.
• Provide primary care procedures, immunizations, health screenings and patient education.
• Coordinate patient care, liaise with clinical staff and consult services, and serve as a clinical resource.
• Precept advanced practice and pre‑licensure nursing students each semester.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Active RN and APRN (Family Nurse Practitioner) license in Texas with prescriptive authority and national board certification.
• Preferred: five years of clinical nursing experience and experience in health professions education.

Required skills

• Electronic health record systems and web‑based applications.
• Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
