Fall 2026 Adult Education Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The Adult Education Intern will support the International Rescue Committee’s ESL programs for refugee and immigrant adults in Atlanta. Working alongside class lead instructors, you will help deliver language instruction and life‑skill training that empower learners to succeed in their new communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering three‑hour ESL classes held Tuesday‑Thursday, both in‑person and online.
• Support instructors in managing multi‑level classrooms and organizing breakout groups by proficiency.
• Help students develop vocabulary, communication, and practical skills for housing, employment, healthcare, and daily life.
• Provide orientation for new students and aid in rolling enrollment processes.
• Collaborate with IRC staff to ensure a supportive learning environment for diverse adult learners.
