Faculty Position in Digital Technology Initiative – Electrical & Computer Engineering

About the role

The College of Engineering at the University of Miami invites applications for full‑time, tenure‑track faculty positions in the Digital Technology Initiative. Candidates will join a vibrant research community focused on cutting‑edge electrical and computer engineering topics.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering.
• Advise M.S. and Ph.D. students on research projects and theses.
• Develop and lead a high‑quality, externally funded research program.
• Collaborate with faculty across the College and pursue joint appointments where appropriate.
• Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of academic accomplishments and scholarly publications.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and foster inclusive excellence.
• Mid‑career applicants are preferred, though all ranks (Assistant, Associate, Full) are considered.

Required skills

• Physical electronics and integrated circuits (nanotechnology, quantum computing, novel circuit design).
• Novel computing hardware and systems (AI/ML hardware design, energy‑efficient GPUs, high‑performance computing).
• Data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning (foundations, trust, explainability, large language models, computer vision).
• Security fundamentals (hardware/software/network security, AI for security).
