Facilities Superintendent

About the role

The Martin County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Facilities Superintendent to lead the maintenance, repair, and construction of its public buildings and infrastructure. This full‑time position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on the community while working in the beautiful Treasure Coast region of Florida.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of repair, maintenance, and construction projects for county facilities.
• Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and contracts for building system projects.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to prioritize work orders.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building systems.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Construction, Maintenance Management, Building Technology, Mechanics, Electronics, Business/Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in repair, maintenance, and construction of commercial building systems.
• At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of commercial building systems and maintenance practices.
• Ability to lead and manage a maintenance team.
• Strong understanding of construction project oversight.
