Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the role

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician you will travel throughout an assigned territory to keep AutoZone stores operating safely and efficiently. You will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, ranging from electrical and plumbing fixes to structural and equipment issues, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to stores across the assigned area, including frequent overnight trips.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform repairs on building, equipment, and grounds.
• Execute preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, structural, mechanical, and general maintenance problems.
• Document store conditions and facility concerns using electronic reporting tools.
• Manage and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with service vendors for specialized repairs.
• Provide basic diagnostics and support for Energy Management Systems (EMS).
• Ensure company vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 21 years of age.
• 1‑2 years of maintenance experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general construction repair.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet AutoZone driving requirements.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
