Fabrication Supervisor - 2nd Shift

About the role

ABB is hiring a Fabrication Supervisor for its Electrification Distribution Solutions business in Mebane, NC, reporting to the Operations Manager. The role leads a team within a fabrication unit that turns parts and raw materials into ABB products, running the line continuously and efficiently according to volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings and quality and safety standards. It is an onsite position.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure efficient, cost-effective production meeting KPI targets by coordinating equipment, personnel and production processes
• Promote a safe working culture and ensure the team follows HSE guidelines
• Review organizational effectiveness, assess competencies and drive continuous skill upgrades
• Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned unit or line
• Make sure production scheduling meets the volume requirements of the demand plan and inventory service levels
• Identify production deficiencies, propose improvements and oversee their implementation
• Resolve critical product or equipment issues with internal teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with 3 years of manufacturing or leadership experience, or high school diploma with 5 years of equivalent experience
• At least 3 years of experience leading in a manufacturing or product development environment
• Thorough understanding of, or quick ability to learn, production operations and machinery
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the US

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for reports and logs
• Six Sigma Green Belt or a proven track record of leading continuous improvement projects preferred
• Project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects
