Production Operator - 1st Shift, Special Processes

About the role

ABB's ELDS Special Processes Department in Mebane, NC is hiring a Production Operator for the 1st shift. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is onsite in Mebane. It covers assembly work on semi-finished or final products, systems and panels, including packing where it is integrated with the production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products, systems and panels, including packing integrated with production lines.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams and instructions for assembling products, systems and panels.
• Work manually or with light hand tools, and use machinery and equipment on the shop floor.
• Carry out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.
• Follow standard operating procedures and keep the work area clean.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to safely use a ladder and to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Valid work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• Use of tools such as tape measures, calipers, grinders or other hand tools as needed.
• Reading and interpreting technical diagrams and instructions.
