Fabrication Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

About the role

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division is hiring a Fabrication Machine Operator for the 2nd shift, based onsite in Mebane, NC. The position reports to the Operations Manager and involves setting up, maintaining and operating fabrication machinery in line with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine machinery set-up, adjustments and repair and fit simple replacement parts.
• Carry out regular standard maintenance of equipment and tools, programming activities and troubleshooting, and report any issues.
• Maintain detailed records of machinery set-ups, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Keep track of approved, defective units and final products.
• Follow agreed workflows, ABB standard processes and safety guidelines, and report any non-compliance.
• Operate machines according to the operating manual, work schedule and production order instructions.
• Maintain a safe working attitude and environment during daily activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to safely use a ladder and to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
• Must hold work authorization allowing work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools such as tape measures, calipers and grinders as needed.
• Operating machines according to the operating manual and production orders.
