Fabrication Machine Operator (1st Shift)

About the role

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division in Mebane, NC is hiring a Fabrication Machine Operator for the 1st shift. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is fully onsite. It covers routine machine set-up, adjustments, simple repairs and maintenance, keeping detailed records and ensuring safe, compliant work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine machinery set-up, adjustments and repair and fit simple replacement parts.
• Carry out regular standard maintenance of equipment and tools, programming activities and troubleshooting, and report any issues.
• Maintain detailed records of machinery set-ups, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Keep track of approved, defective units and final products.
• Follow agreed workflows, ABB Standard processes and safety guidelines, and report any non-compliance.
• Operate machines according to the operating manual, work schedule and production orders.
• Maintain a safe working attitude and environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to safely use a ladder and to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
• Must hold work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools such as tape measures, calipers and grinders as needed.
• Operating machines according to the operating manual and production orders.
