About the role

Ochsner is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide surgical care on Jefferson Highway, focusing on liver transplant, ENT, or neuro cases. The role involves leading patient care using the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver high‑quality patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Assess learning needs, provide education to patients and families, and adapt communication to diverse populations.
• Delegate, direct, and supervise licensed and ancillary team members while managing resources effectively.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and Ochsner’s policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and demonstrate sound judgment.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with computers, software applications, and web‑based tools.
• Clinical specialty certification (preferred).
