About the role
Santander’s Corporate & Investment Banking division is seeking an Executive Director to lead Private Debt Mobilization within Structured Finance. The role focuses on originating, structuring, and distributing complex syndicated loans and project finance transactions across infrastructure, power, renewables, data centers and broader energy sectors in North America.
Key responsibilities
- Lead origination and execution of loan syndication, project finance and structured financing mandates for infrastructure‑related clients.
- Act as senior relationship manager for sponsors, corporates, developers and institutional investors.
- Develop and maintain a network of financial sponsors, investors, banks and distribution partners to achieve successful syndication outcomes.
- Coordinate client pitches, marketing materials and strategy discussions to position Santander as a lead arranger.
- Serve as deal captain, overseeing transaction execution from origination through underwriting, closing and distribution.
- Set and achieve annual revenue targets and business metrics for the product area.
- Lead structuring of complex financings, including project finance, acquisition finance, corporate facilities, hold‑co financings and hybrid debt structures.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in corporate and investment banking, specifically in syndicated loan and structured finance.
- Proven track record of originating and executing large‑scale financing transactions.
- Strong client‑facing and relationship‑building skills with institutional investors and sponsors.
- Leadership capability to mentor junior team members and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of structured finance products and loan syndication processes.
- Ability to negotiate term sheets, loan documentation and offering memoranda.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities.
