Executive Director - Career Futures

About the role

The Executive Director will build and lead Northeastern's Career Futures platform, creating a university‑wide, globally connected ecosystem that integrates workforce intelligence, employer insight, alumni and parent engagement, industry partnerships, and lifelong learning. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Leadership Relations and Campaign Strategy, this newly created role will shape vision and operating model for Career Futures.

Key responsibilities

• Own and scale the Career Futures platform, aligning cross‑university collaborators around shared workforce thought leadership.
• Develop and run a workforce intelligence function that monitors talent trends, employer priorities, skills gaps and technology across global markets.
• Activate a global alumni and parent network to provide mentorship, career intelligence and professional opportunities.
• Position Northeastern as a trusted voice on workforce transformation through content, partnerships and engagement.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in workforce strategy, talent, employer or alumni engagement.
• Demonstrated knowledge of labor market trends, talent ecosystems and the future of work.
• Experience building new initiatives, operational infrastructure, partnerships or platforms within complex organizations.
• Ability to engage alumni and parents as strategic partners, not just audiences.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with global fluency to work across Northeastern's worldwide campuses.
