Events Coordinator

About the role

The Maui Ocean Center is looking for an energetic Events Coordinator to serve as the primary on‑site contact for group, public, and private events. This full‑time position blends sales, hospitality, and operations to deliver memorable guest experiences in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage events from initial booking through execution, including setup, operation, and breakdown.
• Serve as the main client liaison and coordinate with Sales, Food & Beverage, Marketing, and Operations teams.
• Create and maintain Event Orders to ensure seamless delivery.
• Conduct site inspections, client tours, and post‑event follow‑ups.
• Support marketing, special‑event, and sales initiatives; manage event calendars and client meetings.
• Assist with payment processing and travel for trade shows as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, marketing, or related field, or 3–5 years of event‑planning experience.
• Sales experience preferred and familiarity with food‑and‑beverage operations.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, adaptable, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
• Professional, confident client‑facing communicator with a positive, service‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Comfortable learning new technology (RocketRez is a plus).
