Equipment Operator I (Frac)

About the role

Lewis Energy Group, a vertically integrated exploration and production company and leading natural gas producer in South Texas, is hiring an Equipment Operator I (Frac) in Encinal, TX. The operator works under close supervision on fracturing operations, maintains equipment and helps with rig up and rig down activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate various fracturing equipment during fracturing operations under close supervision.
• Maintain assigned equipment, perform daily inspections and report operational deficiencies to the supervisor and maintenance personnel.
• Assist with rig up and rig down operations, including PRV adjustments and Bleed Off rig ups and assembly.
• Learn from higher-level equipment operators in daily operations.
• Mobilize heavy equipment on lease roads and public roads and highways.
• Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) on frac equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience or training.
• Valid DOT medical examiner's certificate (medical card).
• Motor vehicle record with no convictions for recurring or serious violations or accidents.
• A valid Class A driver's license and a hazardous materials endorsement are preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of the oil and gas industry.

Required skills

• Ability to read and write simple instructions and correspondence.
• Basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios and percents, and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems with a few concrete variables.

The work involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally, exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, noise and extreme heat, and occasional work in wet or humid conditions.
