Environmental Services Supervisor

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Environmental Services Supervisor to lead a team responsible for maintaining sanitation standards across the UHealth Tower and other assigned facilities. The role ensures cleaning and housekeeping services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in compliance with university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Approve or recommend employee selections and evaluate performance.
• Assign schedules and duties to ensure proper coverage, including alternating weekends.
• Train staff on cleaning methods, waste disposal, and handling of soiled linens.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations and communicate hazards.
• Manage cleaning‑supply inventories, recommend purchases, and oversee equipment.
• Conduct regular rounds to inspect work, provide assistance during staffing shortages, and support staff.
• Assist in preparing departmental budgets and monitor internal controls.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of relevant supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, evaluate operations, set goals, and delegate tasks.
• Strong leadership, motivation, and training capabilities.
