Fishing Guide

About the role

The Outdoor Pursuits Department at Atlantic Fields is seeking a Fishing Guide to deliver safe, engaging and memorable fishing experiences for club members and guests. You will be the primary point of contact for all fishing activities, ensuring high‑quality service across inshore, offshore and freshwater environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead guided fishing trips, tailoring outings to weather, tidal and environmental conditions.
• Teach casting techniques, bait selection, rigging and proper fish handling to participants of all skill levels.
• Maintain and inspect all fishing equipment, rods, reels, tackle and vessels, reporting any maintenance needs.
• Manage inventory, conduct regular equipment checks and keep accurate records.
• Collaborate with Outdoor Pursuits and Club Management to enhance program offerings and support club events.
• Enforce safety policies, supervise participants on‑ and off‑site, and transport guests safely in a company vehicle.
• Participate in related activities such as archery, axe throwing, equestrian operations and racquet sports.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of department activities and maintain clean, secure facilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience guiding fishing trips for members or guests.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport participants safely.
• Willingness to participate in overnight camping and club events as needed.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of lake, inland and offshore fishing.
• Proficiency in casting techniques, bait selection and rigging.
• Skill in fish handling and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to monitor weather, tidal and environmental conditions.
• Inventory management and basic financial record‑keeping.
• Implementation of safety policies and compliance procedures.
