Environmental Services Supervisor (Full-Time)

About the role

The Environmental Services Supervisor leads the team responsible for maintaining sanitation standards across the University of Miami Health System facilities. This full‑time position ensures that cleaning and housekeeping services are delivered promptly, safely, and in accordance with university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Approve or recommend employee selections and evaluate performance.
• Assign schedules and duties to ensure proper coverage.
• Train staff on cleaning and sanitation standards, including proper mopping and waste disposal.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations and communicate hazards.
• Provide material safety data sheet information to staff.
• Review cleaning‑supply inventories, recommend purchases, and manage equipment.
• Conduct rounds to inspect work, support staff during shortages, and provide assistance.
• Assist in preparing departmental budgets aligned with goals.
• Establish and assess internal controls, ensuring adherence to university policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Capability to set goals supporting the university’s strategic plan.
• Strong planning, delegation, and supervision skills.
• Leadership, motivation, development, and training abilities.
