Enterprise SATCOM / Network Administrator

About the role

Trace Systems is recruiting an experienced and cleared Enterprise SATCOM / Network Administrator to work on-site at Scott AFB, Illinois. The position supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS), providing worldwide 24/7/365 technical and operational support to tactical customers accessing DoD Gateway facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update tickets using DISA ticketing applications to track and resolve customer problems across baseband, IF and RF communications.
• Monitor network events and element management failures in real time, 24x7x365.
• Support IP networks by configuring routers, switches, firewalls and voice equipment.
• Support IP satellite modems, including configuration and issuing option/boot/RSP files.
• Remotely access and de-access customers into the IP/SATCOM networks.
• Work with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed operators to troubleshoot SATCOM and IP network issues.
• Verify equipment is running in its baseline configuration.
• Remotely configure global equipment at DoD SATCOM Gateways using the Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).

Required profile

• Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
• US citizenship, required due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements.
• 5+ years of networking and/or DoD SATCOM experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) mandatory to start.
• High school diploma.

Required skills

• Moderate IP/networking experience: routers, switches, firewalls, routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, RIP), VLANs, ACLs and multicasting.
• Knowledge of satellite communications technology architectures.
• Desired: CCNA/CCNP certifications, experience with iDirect/Linkway IP modems, familiarity with MILSATCOM earth terminal equipment and encryption devices such as KG-250, KG-250x, KIV-7HS, KIV-7M and KG-175.
