Director, Support Engineering

About the role

Mavenir, a cloud-native network software provider serving more than 120 countries, is hiring a Director, Support Engineering in Richardson, Texas. The role is accountable for all operational aspects of deploying, integrating and supporting solutions in the Access and Packet Core sub-domains for mobile carrier clients. It works closely with sales, product management, system engineering, software development, testing, global support, deployment and third parties to meet customer operational readiness expectations and contractual obligations such as service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the operational representative to the customer for domain and proxy customer requirements.
• Update customers on roadmaps, new releases, incidents and operational performance.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to restore services quickly, communicate with customers and perform root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate technical and product requirements and turn them into fully operational deployments.
• Implement and validate secure, real-time network access with session border controllers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Five years of experience in telecommunications operations, including software deployment and support.
• Three years of experience in people management and technical leadership, or leading multinational teams.
• One year of experience deploying, supporting and designing Unix/Linux-based telecom products in datacenters, covering requirements, specifications, design and testing.

Required skills

• Mobile telecommunication architectures and protocols (SS7, 3G, IMS, VoIP, LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi, RTP, SDP, Diameter).
• Incident management and root-cause analysis.
• Unix/Linux datacenter environments.
