Principal, Telco Strategy

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Consumer, Telco & Technology practice is hiring a Principal for its Telco Strategy practice in New York, Chicago, Boston and Washington DC. The role leads client projects and engagements for the converged communications industry, working with partners and acting as a trusted advisor to senior client executives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process, sharing responsibility for the success of specific engagements with Partners.
• Lead and manage complex programs to ensure on-time delivery that meets agreed goals, using Oliver Wyman best practice, own expertise and the firm's technical competence.
• Guide and influence clients across all situations, including execution of the commercial process, and become a trusted advisor.
• Identify new and expanded opportunities to build business.
• Contribute thought leadership and share knowledge across a broad range of adjacent topics.
• Develop others and build a followership, and lead firm-building activities as a role model for firm values.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting and/or in the Communications, Media & Technology industry.
• Strong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skills.
• Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Outstanding communication skills and confidence presenting to senior executives.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
