Enterprise Architect – Avolution Abacus Modeling

About the role

Next Generation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design and maintenance of enterprise architecture models using Avolution Abacus for a client in New York City. The role focuses on creating current‑state and future‑state architecture across business, application, data, and technology layers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain end‑to‑end enterprise architecture models with Avolution Abacus.
• Develop as‑is and to‑be architecture diagrams and layered views, capability maps, process models, and technology roadmaps.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, capture requirements, and align architecture with enterprise strategy.
• Customize meta‑models, automate workflows with JavaScript and REST APIs, and integrate Abacus with ServiceNow, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, and CMDBs.
• Configure dashboards, Sankey diagrams, heat maps, dependency matrices, and Gantt‑style roadmaps for executive reporting.
• Support governance activities, model version control, security configuration, and cloud/on‑prem deployments.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of enterprise architecture and business/systems analysis experience.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on Avolution Abacus configuration, customization, and scripting.
• Strong knowledge of TOGAF, ArchiMate, and BPMN frameworks.
• Proven ability to conduct meta‑modeling, scenario simulation, and algorithm creation.
