Enterprise Architect – Avolution Abacus & EA Modeling (System/Business Analyst)

About the role

Next Generation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to design and maintain enterprise architecture models using Avolution Abacus. The role supports a client in New York City and focuses on both current‑state and future‑state architecture across business, application, data, and technology layers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain end‑to‑end architecture models with Avolution Abacus, creating as‑is and to‑be diagrams.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, capture requirements, and align architecture with enterprise strategy.
• Customize meta‑models, automate workflows with JavaScript and REST APIs, and integrate Abacus with ServiceNow, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, and CMDBs.
• Produce layered views, capability maps, process models, technology roadmaps, and simulation models for scenario planning.
• Configure dashboards, Sankey diagrams, heat maps, dependency matrices, and Gantt‑style roadmaps for executive reporting.
• Support governance activities, EA review boards, modeling standards, and portfolio rationalization.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of enterprise architecture and business/systems analysis experience.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on Avolution Abacus configuration, customization, and scripting.
• Strong knowledge of TOGAF, ArchiMate, BPMN and multi‑layer modeling (business, application, data, technology, security).
