Engineering Technician III – Night Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin modern semiconductor chips and advanced displays. The Engineering Technician III works the night shift to design, test, fabricate, and troubleshoot electro‑mechanical systems that support AI‑driven semiconductor manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical functions including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems, and execute new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions to conduct routine testing and troubleshooting.
• Compile logbooks and test procedures documentation with strong writing skills.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Developed analytical skills and ability to apply scientific methods to a variety of technical activities.
• Good understanding of how the engineering team integrates with other functions.
• No supervisory responsibilities; works independently within established procedures.
• Recognizes and resolves typical problems in own work area without supervisory approval.
