Engineering Technician II – Weekend Compressed Night Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician II to work a weekend compressed night shift in Austin, TX. The role involves hands‑on work with electro‑mechanical systems, supporting new product introductions and field upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum subsystems.
• Execute new system and NPI installations, field upgrades, and rework based on engineering and manufacturing documentation.
• Compile logbooks, test procedures and quality notifications while adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• Analytical skills with the ability to apply scientific methods to technical problems.
• Good written communication for documentation and logbook entries.
• Ability to work from schematics, diagrams and verbal descriptions.
