Engineering Project Manager – VTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems

About the role

Airbus is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to lead the development, manufacturing and sustainment of cutting‑edge Vertical Take‑off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Based in Bingen, WA, you will drive multiple cross‑functional teams from proposal through production launch, directly influencing revenue and the future of autonomous aviation.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain the master engineering project schedule and risk‑and‑issues register for projects of all sizes.
• Coordinate weekly goals and deliverables across hardware, software, manufacturing and test teams.
• Lead the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery of VTOL UAS hardware.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and senior leadership to align technical strategy with business objectives.
• Manage stakeholder communication, reporting progress and mitigating risks throughout the project.

Required profile

• Experienced aerospace engineer with a strong technical background in VTOL or unmanned aircraft systems.
• Proven mastery of schedule creation, risk management and issue resolution in complex hardware projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, 100% onsite environment.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills.
