Engineering Manager – Lead Secure SaaS Platform

About the role

Second Front Systems is seeking an ambitious Engineering Manager to lead the development and scaling of its Game Warden platform, a secure SaaS solution for U.S. government customers. The role combines startup agility with a mission to strengthen national security through innovative software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive execution of technical initiatives that improve scalability, reliability, and performance of core platforms.
• Partner with Product, Platform, and Security teams to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and meet milestones.
• Provide architectural guidance and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop top engineering talent aligned with the company’s mission.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success leading distributed teams in high‑growth or startup environments.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and ability to balance execution with people leadership.
• U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance preferred.
