Engineering Manager - AI/ML (Remote)

About the role

Rula is seeking an Engineering Manager for AI/ML to lead its AI Engineering team. You will guide senior engineers in delivering user‑facing AI features while building core ML infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance in a remote‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of senior and staff engineers to ship product features such as transcript summarization and search relevance.
• Architect and scale foundational ML platforms including feature stores, MLOps pipelines, model deployment systems, and AI observability tools.
• Balance rapid execution with rigorous clinical safety, privacy, and compliance standards.
• Manage concurrent delivery of user‑facing features and backend platform work across multiple release cycles.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering and machine learning experience.
• 5+ years designing, scaling, and deploying distributed backend systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• 3+ years of engineering management experience with a track record of hiring and retaining senior talent.
• 3+ years leading core ML infrastructure projects (feature stores, MLOps, AI observability).
• 2+ years delivering production‑grade AI features, especially LLM integrations, NLP, and relevance engines.
