Engagement Manager - Telco & AI (USA)

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, is hiring Engagement Managers for its Telco & AI practice within the Consumer, Telco, Technology and Performance Transformation groups. The role sits in Boston, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Washington, DC or San Francisco and involves leading client projects and engagements alongside partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and the commercial process, sharing responsibility for the success of a specific engagement
• Lead and manage complex programs to meet agreed goals on time, using firm best practices and technical competence
• Act as a trusted advisor, guiding and influencing clients across all situations
• Identify new and expanded business opportunities and contribute thought leadership
• Develop others and build a followership, acting as a role model for firm values
• Guide the consulting team through hypothesis development, client interviews and insight generation, and oversee deliverables
• Support partners with project management, work planning, workflow and coaching of junior team members

Required profile

• Preference for 4-7 years of strategy consulting experience at a top-tier firm or similar organization
• Track record of leading teams and delivering results in fast-paced environments
• Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills, with quantitative, technical toolkit including SQL and Python
• Machine learning, data science and AI/genAI capabilities preferred
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program, client management experience and willingness to travel 50% of the time, including internationally
