Emerging Markets Technology Lead

About the role

The Emerging Markets Technology Lead will own the technology strategy and roadmap for Barclays' emerging markets business, ensuring delivery plans align with broader transformation objectives. This senior role drives platform simplification, technical debt reduction, resiliency and operational stability while delivering new features.

Key responsibilities

• Define and align technology strategy, roadmap and delivery plans with business and transformation goals.
• Drive platform simplification, technical debt reduction, AI and automation initiatives to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
• Establish and monitor delivery KPIs, productivity metrics, quality indicators and financial outcomes.
• Manage dependencies across multiple programmes, portfolios and business divisions, ensuring regulatory, audit, cybersecurity and operational risk requirements are embedded.
• Lead large‑scale organisational change, adoption and business‑readiness activities, chair governance forums and report status to senior executives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large global technology organisations across multiple regions and time zones.
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence senior leaders, regulators and business heads.
• Deep understanding of investment banking, markets technology, risk management or regulated financial services.
• Track record delivering complex, multi‑year transformation programmes and managing budgets, vendors and financial outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills, executive‑level presentations and ability to drive cultural change.
