Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructor

About the role

Mayvin is looking for an experienced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructor to deliver high‑quality emergency medical training for United States Coast Guard personnel at Training Center Petaluma. The instructor will combine classroom teaching with hands‑on exercises to ensure students are prepared for pre‑hospital care in both operational and shore‑based settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and practical instruction following the approved EMT curriculum and Coast Guard standards.
• Assess student knowledge and adapt teaching methods to maximize learning outcomes.
• Facilitate hands‑on exercises, demonstrations, and scenario‑based training.
• Evaluate student performance through written exams, practical assessments, and participation.
• Maintain accurate course records, attendance logs, and training reports.
• Manage classroom schedules and ensure all training materials and equipment are available.
• Promote safety and enforce all training protocols during instruction.
• Meet or exceed client‑established quality standards for instruction and classroom management.
• Continuously improve instructional delivery and support program evaluations and audits.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen.
• Experienced EMS professional with a background in emergency medical care.
• Proven experience as an educator or trainer, capable of leading classroom and practical sessions.
• Strong commitment to developing competent, confident emergency responders.
