Embedded Systems Software Engineer

About the role

REGENT is developing the Seaglider, a wing‑in‑ground‑effect craft for fast, sustainable coastal transit. As an Embedded Systems Software Engineer you will design, develop, and certify real‑time software and hardware for this innovative product family.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, debug and maintain embedded C++ code for microcontrollers and Linux‑based applications.
• Create and support SIL and HIL test environments, coordinating with controls, avionics and modeling teams.
• Set up and maintain COTS electronics, sensors, servos, harnesses and breakout boards.
• Automate build systems, deployment pipelines and tooling for certification.
• Participate in sea‑trials, monitor operations, run diagnostics and troubleshoot field issues.

Required profile

• Strong experience writing C++ for embedded systems (Linux, RTOS or bare‑metal).
• Hands‑on expertise with microcontrollers and common interfaces such as Serial, SPI, CAN, PWM, ADC and digital I/O.
• Ability to read and work from wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python or MATLAB.
