Electronic Specialist – Manufacturing Maintenance

About the role

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking an Electronic Specialist to support manufacturing maintenance at its York, PA plant. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic and electrical equipment in a high‑security, union environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, electrical codes (NFPA70, NEC), manuals and work orders.
• Diagnose electrical/electronic malfunctions, replace or repair defective components and control modules.
• Reassemble, test and verify equipment under operating conditions.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Install conduit, pull and terminate wiring, fabricate harnesses and build control panels.
• Wire complex units, install auxiliary controls and operate hand, power and bending tools safely.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in industrial electrical/electronic installation and repair.
• Journeyman papers or equivalent technical certification in electronics or electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of NFPA70 and NEC electrical codes.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, precision measuring instruments, frequency drives and PLC ladder logic.
• Skilled in wiring, conduit installation, control panel assembly and harness fabrication.
• Familiarity with CNC machines, manual equipment, overhead cranes, welders, blast equipment and paint booths.
• Certifications: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, ESD, man‑lift and forklift training.
