Electrician - Construction/Installations (Sanford, FL Area)

About the role

SPATCO is looking for an energetic electrician to join its team in the Sanford, Florida area. The electrician reads blueprints and electrical diagrams showing the location of circuits, outlets and other equipment, uses hand and power tools such as conduit benders to run and protect wiring, and uses ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers to find faults and check that components work properly.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry with hand and power tools.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems or components using testing equipment; knowledge of ohm meters, voltmeters, amp probes and meggers is required.
• Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, point-of-sale consoles, tank monitors and petroleum lighting.
• Inspect electrical systems and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements, and verify proper operation.
• Advise management, customers and co-workers on hazards and on when electrical systems are safe to operate.
• Assist the estimator with material take-offs, material costs and labor allowances.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of journeyman electrician experience.
• Knowledge of electrician standards and codes.
• Detail-oriented, with strong communication skills.
• Able to lift 75-100 lbs when necessary, work outdoors in all weather, work under time pressure and follow company procedures.
