Construction Manager, CEA

About the role

Avis Budget Group is looking for a Construction Manager to oversee professional architectural and engineering services for the development, design and construction management of construction projects, mainly on or supporting airports, across its delegated operational area. The role delivers cost-effective, well-planned facilities that maximise customer experience and operational efficiency, within user requirements, budget, time and applicable rules.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage construction, renovation and facility improvement projects to on-time, on-budget, compliant delivery.
• Define functional requirements with Operations and turn them into detailed architectural and engineering scopes of work.
• Coordinate with Corporate Design & Construction and headquarters to implement design standards and branding across the network.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using historical data, regional cost indexes and prevailing wage schedules.
• Oversee design development and construction documentation for permitting, bidding and contracting, and review drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Represent the organisation in technical meetings with airports, landlords and municipal authorities.
• Manage consultants, contractors, vendors and building officials, and monitor construction for quality, safety and environmental compliance.
• Administer construction contracts, including change orders, RFIs, progress evaluations and closeout.
• Carry out property condition assessments before leasehold acquisition or renewal.
• Review and approve consultant and contractor invoices and coordinate with accounting on payment schedules.
• Provide direction to external design professionals and contractors, and give technical guidance to internal staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5-10 years of practical commercial construction and design project management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of construction activities and professional roles in the industry.
• Excellent communication and social skills, strong organisational and analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple third-party teams.
• Up to 40% travel required.
