Electrical Helper – Construction/Installations

About the role

The Electrical Helper will work on a variety of construction projects, primarily supporting the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in the petroleum industry. The role involves teamwork, occasional travel, and opportunities for in‑house training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assembling, installing, maintaining and testing electrical equipment and fixtures.
• Install conduits, pull wire, and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, POS consoles, tank monitors and lighting.
• Inspect electrical systems for compliance with safety codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Verify proper operation of electrical systems and advise when hazards are present.
• Support estimators with material take‑off, cost calculations and labor allowances.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years experience as an apprentice with an electrical company (journeyman card not required).
• Ability to lift 75‑100 lb and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Detail‑oriented with strong communication skills and ability to work under time constraints.

Required skills

• Conduit installation and wire pulling.
• Electrical equipment assembly and testing.
• Knowledge of electrician standards and codes.
