Electrician – Construction/Installations

About the role

SPATCO is seeking an energetic electrician to join its team in the Sanford, FL area. The role involves reading blueprints, installing and maintaining electrical systems for the petroleum industry, and ensuring safety and compliance on site.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems with testing equipment such as ohm meters, volt meters, amp probes and megger.
• Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, pumps, dispensers, POS consoles, tank monitors and lighting.
• Inspect electrical systems and components for compliance with safety codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Advise management and coworkers about hazards and safe operation of electrical systems.
• Assist estimators with material take‑off, cost calculations and labor allowances.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of journeyman electrician experience.
• Knowledge of electrician standards and codes.
• Ability to lift 75‑100 lb and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Detail‑oriented with strong communication skills and ability to work under time constraints.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Use of hand and power tools, including conduit benders.
• Operation of ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, cable testers, ohm meters and megger.
• Installation of conduits, wire pulling and final circuit connections.
• Inspection of systems for code compliance and safety.
