Electrical System Operator – Renewable Energy

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking an Electrical System Operator to join its Renewable Energy System Operation Center. You will monitor and control wind generation assets across North America, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable 24/7 operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor wind generation facilities in real time under normal and emergency conditions.
• Evaluate system conditions, anticipate risks, and respond to incidents to maintain optimal performance.
• Direct field technicians during restorations or maintenance events.
• Author and maintain electrical switching and operations procedures.
• Record and report operational data and system disturbances accurately.
• Ensure compliance with NERC reliability standards and internal protocols.
• Participate in training to maintain certifications and operational proficiency.

Required profile

• Technical degree (2‑year or 4‑year) with at least 2 years of utility or power‑plant operations experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical/mechanical theory, energy systems, and basic mathematics.
• Ability to obtain PJM and NERC certification within 12 months.
• Clear communicator with good situational judgment.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, shift‑based control‑room environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Base pay $36–$45 per hour ($74,880–$93,600 annually) plus performance bonus.
