EHS Safety Engineer – New College Graduate

About the role

The EHS Safety Engineer new college graduate will work under general supervision to implement environmental, health and safety programs for Applied Materials in Santa Clara. This role provides safety support on projects, coordinates safety aspects of operations, and helps ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implements EH&S programs and manages safety support on specified projects in line with AMAT policies and regulations.
• Coordinates safety aspects of operations and engineering with customers and related organizations.
• Develops and maintains a knowledge base across EHS disciplines such as occupational health, industrial hygiene, and lab safety.
• Reports and presents safety status and issues to the EH&S team and business groups.
• Implements programs to resolve customer safety concerns and ensures products meet safety requirements at shipment.
• Investigates accidents, specifies corrective actions, and delivers safety awareness programs.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of EHS theories, practices, and procedures.
• Applies general business knowledge acquired through education.
• No supervisory responsibilities; accountable for technical contributions.
• Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and makes informed judgments.
